Miserable State of Roads

Road Miserable State of Roads

Road

My cousin just got married about a week ago and I had gone to Pune from Sangli for the occasion. People had given us some stern warnings about the state of roads. Everyone said they were very bad and driving at speeds in excess of 80kmph was close to impossible at times.

In reality, it turned out to be worse than that. The current state of the road from Sangli to Peth is the worst ever as far as I can remember. The road has lot of bumps and pits. It’s not in a level the car keeps careening and it’s nauseating. The NH4 portion is supposed to be the better one. It’s national highway for god’s sake, but no. That road is even worse.

The toll booths on the NH4 are managed by pigs dressed in human outfits and are governed by donkeys in same suits. Those idiots had screwed up so bad, that we escaped an accident by an hairline. Those daft monkeys (I am starting to feel sorry for real animals now) had diverted traffic on the fast lane of the highway without any form of prior indication whatsoever. The car in front of ours was driving around 100kmph, I was close behind around the same speed. He suddenly moved from the fast lane to the slow lane after giving indication. I thought he was giving me a go ahead signal and I sped up and saw a truck coming on the wrong side. Those SoBs hadn’t given any indication AT ALL. I had to break and change lane, while doing so, I was being followed by a driving school car with more L boards than the number of wheels on the car.

Luckily for us, the learner was good and he did not crash into us and neither did I go on to crash on the truck. I literally called the toll booth people donkeys while giving the toll and yelled at him. I would have kicked them around like a football if it were physically possible ( :( ).

Later on the same segment of road, some 3 wheeler vehicle had met an accident. It was facing the wrong direction. If he were indeed driving in the wrong direction, then I don’t feel sorry for him at all. If it were not his fault, and if he were indeed the victim of poor roads, someone must sue those bastards of construction people. Looked like the vehicle had toppled on its own and the driver was dead on the road his guts spilled out on the roads. It was a sad situation altogether.

Later on the same portion of the road again, during night, there are no indicators indication the termination and beginning of new road divider segments, no markings on the roads for lanes. It’s very dangerous at those speeds. I saw one car almost hit the divider because it was impossible to see it. I was having troubles as well. The trees on the divider, which are supposed to block the light of vehicles in the opposite segments of the roads were non-existent. I can go on and on. Point is, those guys suck. Driving is becoming more and more dangerous, thanks for stupid people driving on the wrong sides, the idiotic road constructors cum maintainers and the clumsy donkeys at the toll booths. :peace:

it was so bad that i never agreed so much with u!
i was going to die several times, even with an experienced driver.[maybe my driver=my father had lost touch on such idiotic roads]he got used to the others’ driving in 1-2 hours, but didn’t make it any better.
lucky for people like us not to die.
we had to fight to get change at the toll booths, instead of eclairs or wateva, my dad scolded them that we don’t like chocolates, we’re all diabetics!
even i could go on and on but don’t want any more stress for myself or u or ur readers.
