Well… My second release day show in this month. I think I am (we are) becoming too much of a movie addict… None the less, me and some of my friends went to the movie, even after many warnings of not watching it. People said that the ToI was paid to give the movie 4/5 stars.
Anyways, as there were no other significant good movies, we were resorted to this movie and thinking (as usual with us nowadays) that it will certainly be better than No Smoking, we decided to go for the dare to face the truth.
So, there were we, only about 25 people at the theater and we were having second thoughts about skipping the movie and maybe go and watch Phoonk. Then it hit us… Darna Mana Hai, Darna Jaroori Hai… Ram Gopal Varma and horror movies => disaster… I mean, that guy obviously thinks that he is making good movies, but someone should tell him that he is not. Just like someone should tell Himesh Reshamiya that he cannot sing. Continue reading »

Singh might be king but I am definitely feeling like one of those people who were promised new land on the moon.
There was a lot of hype and again a lot of hype about this movie. I agree that I did not have a very good feeling about this, but due to drought of new movies, I had no choice… So, I went to watch it.
I have come home with some mixed feelings. Some of the points I have taken from the movie are, 1). WTF 2). WTF and 3). Akshay Kumar’s acting… Let me go on one by one.
The first scene, the very first time you see someone who looks like a ’singh’, makes you wonder… why O’ why have I spent so much money (if you are actually watching it in theater that is… I made that mistake) and come to see such a crap movie? Before you even get out of that anguish of the moment, you are facing Akshay Kumar who is doing some weird gestures that make you think weird things.
(And also make you write weird things afterwards maybe? Aah… I am losing my touch, or maybe I am being too naive). Continue reading »

WOW WOW WOW…. I am, after what seems like a very long period of time, truly and completely speechless after watching a movie. With the brilliant performance of Bruce Wayne / Batman played by Christian Bale and one of the best portrayal of a villain by Heath Ledger I really am left speechless.
If you have not seen the Batman Begins yet then you will not appreciate this movie as much as you would after watching the prequel. This movie exceeds Batman Begins in all aspects yet the bonding between the two is great.
The first movie, Batman Begins ends on a note of some ‘joker’ coming in the town and robbing banks and now in the Datk Knight, the Batman is after The Joker. Pretty soon (as we already know from the cartoon and the comics) that robbing banks is not what the Joker is after. The true plan remains to be something else. Something big.
I say it again, I have never felt so good after watching a movie. It was like all the 2 hours and 23 minutes were spent the best. Like there was no better thing to do at that time. I am not going to spoil anything for you now. All I want to say is you MUST WATCH this movie. And please make sure to watch Batman Begins first. Otherwise you will not appreciate it as much as you would after wathing the first movie.

When I first started watching the movie, I was expecting something big. Sarkar, even after being a remake of Godfather to an extent, was a very good movie. Based on that fact, I was bidding on the point that this might again be a very good movie. Alas, but I am slightly disappointed. This movie is certainly below expectations. As I already stated, the first movie was very good. It had raised the bar very high and Sarkar Raj fails to reach it.
Just to remove any doubts you might have, this is a very good movie. After watching the likes of Jannat and Crazy 4 in recent past, this was actually an Oscar winning movie. But comparing it with Sarkar (as a sequel) fails.
I will try to keep this review as spoiler free as possible. Continue reading »
