I am and have always been a lover of weird movies. Movies which make you stress your mind and actually require you to think what is going on and what might be the end. Reading the title of this movie, it seemed that Karthik Calling Karthik might be one of the rare bollywood movies to land themselves in that weird yet good movies. I decided to check it out for myself.

The movie starts off with a bang. I was actually intrigued at the beginning and was eager to know what would come next. Karthik, a troubled young mag, working in a construction company does not exist. Figuratively I mean. No one knows him, no one bothers him, he is shy and total chicken. Then… Karthk starts receiving calls from Karthik. The concept itself is amusing. Is there a souble role? Is Karthik suffering from multiple personality disorder? Does he have an evil twin somewhere? Did Karthik lock the twin up?

Harishchandrachi Factory

When I first heard about this movie from newspapers, I was in a dilemma. Whether this would really be a comedy movie or just another documentary about the first movie ever made in India. In either cases, the movie caught my interest and I decided to give it a try. After all, the movie was in the running for Academy Awards 2010 (Oscars) from India in foreign language films.

Harishchandrachi Factory, in case you don’t know, is a movie about the making of the very first Indian movie by Dada Phalke. The movie was a mute movie and outlined the life of king Harishchandra. This movie, the making of that first movie, handles the issue from a funny perspective.

Of Connection Issues and Test Scores

Finally, I received official scores from ETS. Scored 110/120 in TOEFL iBT and 1490/1600 in GRE with 800/800 in Quant, 690/800 in Verbal and 5/6 in analytical writing. Now the application process is all that remains and hopefully it will be over soon.

In other news, thank to BSNL, I have not been able to update this blog or noob2geek for a LONG time. Finally, after countless complaints, their people came and replaced the entire cable from the pole to my house today and I have not had a problem since then.

In another news, my laptop’s HDD is fried again. I bought a new 250GB HDD and am yet to install it. Currently online from an isolated partition on the old HDD that still throbs. Until next time…
