A few weeks ago, my friend Santhosh posted a nice little tutorial on noob2geek on how to display random posts on your wordpress blog. I was thinking about implementing it on this blog for a long time, finally I got some free time and I have implemented the feature here on this blog.

I have made a few changes to the code given on that post on noob2geek. I wanted to display random posts at the bottom of every individual post. The method on n2g does 2 things, 1 is that it displays even the current post in the random posts. Secondly, it does not work well in-line to a post as we don’t store the $post variable anywhere. Hence, the code with the changes is given below.

Hmm… The code looks a bit weird in blockquotes. I might have to change the way a block quote is displayed. Right now, check the wp-syntax version. Other’s are not working, unfortunately.

Happy New Year

Heya people… If there’s one resolution I am going to make this year, it will be of making it a habit to post regularly on this blog. The frequency will vary of-course, but the gaps I used to have on old blog which used to last ~2 months will certainly be gone. Then there’s a bunch of other things, which I won’t share here.

Another good thing this semester to keep me going with this is the fact that I only have to study 4 subjects this year. Which means full college for only one day and other 4 days I will get 2 free hours either in the morning or the evening. Things are finally looking bright

Hello there! To all the readers who have landed on this blog in search of some of my old favorites, I regret to inform you that the old blog no longer exists. I finally went ahead with the move I was planning for. This blog will now contain only non-technical articles.

The move was smooth and I am very happy to announce the launch of noob2geek. A website where we turn newbies into geeks. You will be able to read lot of articles about Linux, Windows, Web Designing, SEO of your blogs. In addition to all this, we also provide occasional tools to bring out the best web designer in you. So, for all the technical articles head over to noob2geek.

For all of you looking for the non-technical articles (my world famous Movie reviews for example)… I am sorry, but the old reviews no longer exist. I will import them as an when I get time from my archives, but currently, they do not exist.

This install of wordpress is still fresh. I am configuring all the required things right from plugin choosing till the theme building. I plan to make lot of changes to the ready-made theme. Once all the changes and the tweaking are in place, I will start with the import and posting. Till then, stay tuned.
